Common Questions
Yes. Infancy is actually one of the best windows for this. Babies' brains are wired to absorb the sounds and rhythms of any language they're regularly exposed to, and that “listening” foundation is being built long before your baby says a first word.
No. Decades of research on bilingual infants show no evidence that exposure to two languages causes speech delays or confusion. Babies are fully capable of sorting out multiple language systems from the start.
Teachers narrate the day in Spanish the same way you'd talk to your baby in English at home, naming what they see, singing, and responding to coos and cries, so Spanish becomes part of ordinary caregiving and comfort, not a separate “lesson.”
Infant caregiving is built on reading cues, not words. Teachers respond to hunger, tiredness, and comfort the same way regardless of language, and Spanish is layered on top of attentive, responsive care, never a barrier to it.
Often the earliest signs are receptive, not spoken. Your baby may turn toward a familiar Spanish word, calm to a familiar song, or react to simple phrases like “vamos” or “ven aquí” well before they can say anything back.
